A mission of the Charlotte Central School Parent Teacher Organization (CCS PTO) is to “foster an environment where all families, regardless of their background, can actively participate, engage, and thrive in our school community. We believe that by embracing diversity, fostering equity, and promoting inclusion, we can support an educational experience that prepares our children for a more inclusive and just world. We recognize the importance of dismantling systems that perpetuate bias and privilege, fostering an environment where every child, family, and staff member feels valued and respected.” (See bylaws for more details.) 

 

The CCS PTO takes this mission seriously. 

 

This CCS PTO Guide is intended to add structure to the CCS PTO, allowing caregivers to more easily see what opportunities are available for participation each year. The idea is that every caregiver who has the desire to actively participate in the PTO has a variety of opportunities from which to choose. If a desired opportunity is not on this list, please reach out to a PTO Board member to discuss adding it.

 

This Guide and the CCS PTO Google Drive is organized to mimic the CCS PTO Organization Chart (see below).

 

Use this as a guide and best practices for all things CCS PTO. It will be updated as needed. Please direct any updates, edits, questions, comments, or concerns to Damaris Herlihy.
